Not wanting to rely on men economically or mentally, Komatsu became a JFK Bank secretary as she desired to be a completely self-reliant woman. However, she also didn't want to neglect her housework. Though it was hard she kept up with both her office work and household work, the best she could. She worked to exhaust every day, but her husband found another woman. She kept telling herself that men fool around and she just couldn't forgive him.
It was later discovered that she was having an affair with President Ijuuin after Seiko Miyazawa saved his life.
